As 2021 is winding down here is a recap of what the golf course crew has been doing this Fall/Winter:
Leaves started to fall late this year and the course cleanup has taken a few weeks to complete, but the crew has done an outstanding job keeping things clean for the golfers that have continued to play with mild temperatures.
As we prepare for the 2022 season we look for ways that will improve playability and enjoyment with small projects that make a dramatic impact. Two of these projects are happening on Hole 6!
As you walk up to the tee and get ready to let'er rip, you will notice a tee expansion/improvement on the back tee. This tee complex will receive a major renovation down the road, but the current upgrade we started this last week will pay huge dividends in the now. Turf quality was poor from tree competition, lack of size, increased play, and a non level surface. Tree pruning to allow air movement and sunlight to reach the upper back pad, removal of existing surface, grading for usable space, and finally sod will provide a much more desirable tee for 2022.
